Funeral services for Grace Askew Hurley, 87, of Iron City, Ga., were held Tuesday, June 22, at Olive Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Iron City, Ga., with the Revs. Donna Bevels and Eric Boomer officiating.
Interment followed in the church’s cemetery with Sammy Hand, Tommy Hunter, David Marvets, Patrick Creel, Kent Mathis and Tommy Mobley serving as active pallbearers.
Born Aug. 1, 1922, in Iron City, Ga., Mrs. Hurley died on Sunday, June 20, 2010, at her residence.
Mrs. Askew had been a member of Olive Grove Primitive Baptist Church since 1952, and she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Hurley; and a son and daughter-in-law, Johnny Wayne Hurley and Marti Gail Hurley.
Survivors include a son, Lamar “Buster” Hurley of Iron City; a daughter, Gloria Joyce of Macon, Ga.; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
