Funeral services for Wallace Clarke Shiver Sr., 64, of Donalsonville, Ga., were held on Thursday, June 3, at South Mount Zion Church of God with Pastor Tony Clay and the Rev. Harrison Steege officiating.

Interment followed in Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Born on April 30, 1946, in Donalsonville, Ga., Mr. Shiver died on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala.

Mr. Shiver was an active member of South Mount Zion Church of God. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Jimmie Ruth Shiver.

Survivors include his wife, Nina Jo Chesnut Shiver of Donalsonville; two sons, Wallace Clarke Shiver Jr. of Columbus, Ga.; a daughter, Pennie Shiver Thornton of Colquitt, Ga.; a brother, Ronnie Joe Shiver of Donalsonville; eight grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
