Samaritan Counseling Center gets gift from Georgia Power Foundation

Derrick Cox, chapter president of the Bainbridge chapter of Citizens of Georgia Power, and chapter vice president Craig Chambless are shown above presenting a $2,500 check from the Georgia Power Foundation to Chris Beam, director of the Samaritan Counseling Center in Bainbridge. The foundation funds chapters throughout the state based on funds raised, giving and service hours over the year, in the area the chapters serve. The Citizens of Georgia Power’s 2011 theme is “Step Up and Stand Out” and the service orginazation will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2012. The local Bainbridge chapter serves Seminole, Decatur, Miller, Thomas, Mitchell, Baker and Early counties, and participates in many local events including Relay for Life, blood drives, Renew the Rivers, Can Hunger, Secret Santa and local literacy initiatives.
