DOT to work on U.S. 27 North

The Georgia Department of Transportation will resurface U.S. 27 in Decatur County from north of the U.S. 27/U.S. 84 bypass to south of Pinehill Road. Oxford Construction Company is scheduled to begin work on this project on Thursday, Oct. 28, weather permitting. This project consist of approximately 5.2 miles of milling, plant mix resurfacing, single surface treatment, paving and shoulder reconstruction. It has been awarded for $2,627,559. This is a work zone and extreme caution is necessary. Motorists will encounter single-lane closures. Motorists are advised to reduce speeds as they travel through this construction work zone. Message signs, barrels and cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming changes. Drivers should be aware that personnel and equipment will be operating in close proximity to travel lanes.
