Lance Robinson

A fireman’s funeral service for Lance Robinson, 33, of Iron City, Ga., was held on Monday, Oct. 25, at the First Baptist Church of Donalsonville with the Revs. James Scarborough, Jimmy Dean and Dennis Norman officiating.

Interment followed at the Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City with Kenny King, Tony Nix, Terrell Long, Shannan Dunaway, Steve Enfinger and Billy Daniels acting as active pallbearers. Honorary casketbeares were all emergency service personnel.

Mr. Robinson was born Donalsonville on July 31, 1977, to William Leslie and Cynthia Bush Robinson. He died Oct. 22, 2010, at his residence.

He graduated from Seminole County High School in 1995, where he had served as the president and chaplin of the Future Farmers of America and had been a member of the Georgia FFA Association.

He worked with the Decatur County Fire and Rescue as a senior fireman, was the chief of the Iron City Volunteer Fire Department, was a member of the Georgia Fire Chief Association, and organized and was a charter member of the Georgia Fire Fighter Clown Society, in which his clown name was “Slow Leak.” Mr. Robinson was an EMT-Intermediate, a rescue specialist, a Hazmat technician, a member of the Iron City Baptist Church, American Legion Post No. 265 of Ochlockonee, and a past member of the Spring Creek Volunteer Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William “Red” Robinson, and his maternal grandparents, Walter and Edith Bush.

Mr. Robinson is survived his wife, Rebecca Ann Robinson of Iron City; his parents, Les and Cindy Robinson of Donalsonville; his father and mother-in-law, Ronny and Sharon Herring of Ochlockonee, Ga.; his paternal grandmother, Sara Robinson of Iron City; two daughters, Allison Ann Robinson and Mollie Marie Robinson of Iron City; a brother, Chad Robinson of Iron City; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
