The annual Bainbridge-Decatur County YMCA Veterans Day Classic 10k Run will be Saturday at Bainbridge College.

The 5,000 meter, 3.1-mile event will begin at 9 a.m. Registration will be held from 7:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.

The registration fee is $20 with a T-shirt and $10 without a T-shirt. The course is USA Track and Field certified and runs flat and fast through the Lake Douglas neighborhood.

Those wishing to pay their entry fee by check should make them payable to the Bainbridge YMCA.

Awards will be presented to the first overall male and female finishers along with first, second and third place finishers in each of 13 male and female age divisions and the top male and female masters, over 40, division winners.

Age divisions are 14-and under, 15-to-19, 20-to-24, 25-to-29, 30-to-34, 35-to-39, 40-to-44, 45-to-49, 50-to-54, 55-to-59, 60-to-64, 65-to-69 and 70-and over.

Run director Liv Warren reports that pre-registration for the run, which ended Wednesday, went very well.

“We have a lot of new runners in Bainbridge and Decatur County and I think the field for our run could be very big this year,” Warren said. “It could be our biggest field ever.”

After the run, all participants are welcome to come to the YMCA and use its showers and steam room, Warren said.

“We want all runners to come out, run their best, and have a good time. It should be a great day.”
