The funeral service for Paul I. Maloy, 72, of Climax, Ga., who died Tuesday, Dec. 21, at Memorial Hospital. will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 27, at Climax Baptist Church with the Revs. Steve Poppell and Jim Weaver officiating.

Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Edward Bednarz, Cliff Bednarz, Lawrence Balderas, Mike Meeks, Roger Nix, Tim Carty and Charlie Wyatt will serve as active pallbearers. The men of the Josh Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The graveside service will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Tyndall Air Force Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 26, at Climax Baptist Church.

Mr. Maloy was born Dec. 10, 1937, in Climax, the son of Wesley Bruce Maloy and Jessie Blanch Kelly Maloy. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and retired as a master sergeant. Mr. Maloy was a graduate of Climax High School, Class of 1956, was a member of Climax Baptist Church and was president of the Cedar Grove Cemetery Committee.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Bonnie Bednarz Maloy of Climax; his sons, Chuck Maloy and his wife, Donna, of Climax, Bruce Maloy of Bellevue, Neb., and Dennis Maloy and his wife, Lauri, of Bellevue, Neb.; his daughter, Paula Hurt and her husband, Greg, of Climax; his sisters, Velma Greber of Dahlonega, Ga., Jenelle Eaton and Judy Fuller, both of Climax; his grandchildren, Bridget Tweedy, Jen Bowers, Ryan Maloy, Kristen Maloy, Lacey Maloy, Reid Anderson, Brad Anderson, Rachel Maloy, Jessica Hurt, Stephanie Maloy and Adrianna Hurt; and his one great-grandson, Conner Tweedy.
