The Bainbridge High School Lady Cats lost 56-43 to the Lee County High School Lady Trojans in Friday’s consolation game, finishing in fourth place at the Region 1-AAAA Basketball Tournament at Northside-Columbus High School.
They will play the Richmond Hill High School Lady Wildcats, the first-place team in Region 2-AAAA, Friday at 7 p.m., at Richmond Hill.
Against Lee County, Briana Wade led the Lady Cats with 13 points. Alex Carter was also in double figures with 10.
Takia Crankfield added nine, Diamond Bouie put in five, Ri’Chana Jackson scored four and Jasmin Kelly scored two.
DaQuenna Moore led the Lady Trojans with a game high 30 points.
Lady Cats coach Kelvin Cochran said his team played hard against Lee County, but were just short on some key shots.
“We had several shots just rim out that could have gotten us closer,” he said. “What we have got to do now is put the game behind us and get ready for a good Richmond Hill team. They have some excellent ball handlers and they shoot well from outside.”
