Paul Lane

Funeral services for Paul Lane, 70, of Miami, Fla., will be held Saturday, Jan. 22, at 2 p.m. at St. John A.M.E. Church in Donalsonville, Ga., with Pastor Johnathan Moore Sr. officiating.

Interment followed at St. John Cemetery.

Mr. Lane was born Jan. 18, 1940, in Jakin, Ga., and died Jan. 9, 2011, in Miami.

He worked 33 years for Florida Coastal Railroad before retiring.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Delissa Paulett Lane; two sisters, Essie Lane and Velma Lane; two brothers, Fred Lane and J.C. Godwin; and his grandmother, Channie Lane.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice Lane; four daughters, Diane and Patricia Lane of Miami, Fla., Elaine G. Lane of Lima, Ohio, and Cynthia Lane of Dothan, Ala.; three sons, Roy Buggs of Brinson, Ga., Johnny Jones of Bainbridge, and Lamar Lane of Miami; three sisters, Wylene Lane and Shirley Lane, both of Merritt Island, Fla., and Elouise King of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four brothers, Earl Lane of Jakin, Charlie Orange of Donalsonville, Mack Lane and James Lane, both of Cocoa, Fla.; 19 grandchildren and a host of other relatives.

Jacobs Mortuary in Bainbridge is in charge of the arrangements.
