The Bainbridge Middle School eighth grade Bearcats dropped a 52-46 decision to the Seminole County Middle School eighth grade Bearcats Thursday in Donalsonville.
Coach Heith Maxwell said his Bearcats, who are now 4-4 on the season, made too many mistakes against the Indians.
“We did not shoot or handle the ball very well yesterday,” Maxwell said. “When we played Seminole County at home, we beat them 49-28. What we need to do now is go back to practice and get ready for our final two games, which will both be at home.”
Leading the way for the Bearcats Thursday against the Indians were power forwards Jordan Brown and Cincere Johnson with 8 points. Guards Jalyn Peterson and Jeremiah McClain contributed 7 points apiece.
Rounding out the Bearcats scoring chart Thursday was center Anthony Florence with 6, point guard Tim Tarver with 5, point guard Dewayne Kyles with 3, and guard Kenneth Clark with 2.
Dewayne Grimsley of the Indians took game scoring honors with 18 points.
Also in double figures for the Indians were Xzaveon Conley with 11 and Terryan Bryant with 10.
The Bearcats will host Thomasville’s Macintyre Park Middle School eighth grade Bulldogs Monday, Jan. 11, and host Cairo’s Washington Middle School eighth grade Tigers Wednesday, Jan. 13.
