The Grace Christian Academy Lady Cougars basketball team concluded their successful season with a 45-23 loss to the Monsignor Donovan Catholic High School Lady Rams Thursday, Feb. 25, in the elite eight round of the GISA State Class AA State Tournament in Athens.
Leading the way for the Lady Cougars, who conclude the season with a 19-6 record was Mikey Harrell with eight points. Perra Harrell added seven, Kelsey Harrell put in four and Lindsey Duke and Pooja Patel put in two apiece.
After the game Lady Cougars’ Head Coach Erwin Harrell talked about his team’s successful season and their strong effort against the Lady Rams.
“We are obviously disappointed that we did not make it back to the final four,” Harrell said. “The ladies played their heart out tonight, but our shots were just not falling for us, but we have had a good year with only six losses. Our seniors, Lindsey Duke, Kelsey Harrell and Perra Harrell provided tremendous Christian leadership for us this year and throughout their careers here at Grace.”
