In the spirit of giving, Lucretia’s School of Dance is hosting a competition with James Robinson Taekwondo to see whose students can bring in the most items for a Thanksgiving meal box.
Lucretia’s School of Dance has partnered with The Salvation Army to create Thanksgiving boxes that will include stuffing mix, whole kernel corn, green beans, cream of mushroom soup, pumpkin pie filling, instant mashed potatoes, Jiffy corn bread mix, self-rising flour, sugar, one pound bag of rice, can peas, can chicken broth, can evaporated milk, tea bags and vegetable oil.
The hope is that students bring in enough of these items to create multiple meal boxes for the Salvation Army to distribute.
Lucretia’s School of Dance students have already began bringing in items, according to receptionist, Samantha.
Students have even been generous enough to bring in requested items, along with additional items to give to those in need.
The unrequested items will be donated to the Salvation Army as well, however only the requested items will count for the competition.
The competition will end on November 14, when both classes will head to the Willis Park Square to weigh in their goods. The losing team will then be pied in the face by the winners.
Lucretia’s School of Dance thanks everyone in advance for their support and their giving nature during the holidays.
