Emergency crews were called to West Bainbridge on Thursday afternoon in response to a house fire, on the corner of Martin and James Street. According to Bainbridge Public Safety, the fire started in the living room, though the exact cause is currently unknown. There was only one occupant when the fire began, who was able to safely evacuate the building.

Electric crews had to be called to the scene, as the fire burned the home’s powerline connection, leaving a live power line in the road. The fire was extinguished, and while the building, according to BPS, remains structurally sound, it still sustained significant damage to the front.
