Two 5K holiday runs will be sponsored by the Bainbridge Leisure Services Department during the holiday season.
The Zombie Run will be Saturday, Nov. 23, at 4 p.m. and the Run Rudolph Run will be Saturday, Dec.14, at 9 a.m.
The coordinator of the two runs is Bainbridge Leisure Services assistant athletic director Joanie Williams.
Both events will begin and end at the Earle May Boat Basin nature trail.
The entry fee for the Zombie Run is $20. T-shirts are extra and may be purchased at a reduced cost of $10 with a limit of one per runner. The cost is $30 for participants who want to run and get a T-shirt. Characters dressed up in zombie costumes will jump out and greet the runners along the way.
Runners will wear a flag belt with two flags to represent their “lives.” The zombies along the trail will try to steal the flags.
Runners must make it through the race with at least one flag on their belt.
“This is a fun run and not a timed run,” Williams said.
Both courses are centered throughout the Earle May Boat Basin.
Entrants in both holiday running events are required to be at least age 18 or older.
Applications for both runs are available at the Bainbridge Leisure Services Department office.
The entry fee for the Run Rudolph Run event will be $15 for runners who pre-register and $20 for runners who register on the day of the run.
By paying their entry fee and submitting their application, runners relieve the Bainbridge Leisure Services Department and the city of Bainbridge from any risks associated with the event.
