The 19th Annual Climax’s Senior Citizens Event and celebration was held Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Climax Tiger’s Den.
The dining tables were draped in white with a border to accent the fall season with pumpkins and other favorites. Horns of plenty graced the tables as centerpieces.
The large group of elderly citizens attending enjoyed a hearty meal of garlic baked chicken, smoked bake beans, and Cole slaw topping the meal off was delicious lemonade, and for dessert everyone’s favorite, a pound cake. For entertainment the group viewed a nice video of past events and celebrations, followed by six games of bingo for prizes.
Barbara Pugh, chairperson and organizer of the event said, “It warms my heart to see those who are still attending after so many years.” She went on to say that fifty-nine elderly citizens who are no longer with the group were remembered during the “Memorial Tribute.” Pugh also said that the fellowship and the circle of love resonate every year for those who can still attend the annual event.
Pugh named other dedicated helpers and workers: Letha and James Jackson, Sandra Brown, Shea Campbell, Donnis Butler and Sherry Edwards.
Reporters note: Congratulations to the Climax’s Senior Citizens for another wonderful year to celebrate. Everyone appreciates the labor of love by those dedicated sponsors: Barbara Pugh, Letha and James Jackson, Sandra Brown, Sea Campbell, Donnis Butler and Sherry Edwards.
