The Bainbridge Middle School eighth grade Lady Cats defeated the Seminole County Middle School eighth grade Lady Indians 31-25 Thursday in Donalsonville.
India Parris, cousin of former Bainbridge High School Lady Cats All Region 1-AAAA center Patra Parris, who is now playing with Albany’s Dartin College Lady Cavaliers, led the Lady Cats scoring attack with 14 points. Lady Cats coach Marion Bush liked the effort her Lady Cats put forth against the Lady Indians.
“The girls played hard and I was very pleased with their performance,” Bush said. “We missed Destiny Turner who is out for the rest of the season with a broken wrist. We are showing improvement every day in practice and in every game and that is what is important.”
Behind Parris in the Lady Cats scoring column was Asharria Fudge with 5, Lyla Register and Tyliyah McGriff with 4 apiece and LaShShonda Williams and Taniah Register with 2 apiece.
The Lady Cats will conclude their season with two home games. On Monday, Jan. 11, they will play Thomasville’s Macintyre Park Middle School eighth grade Lady Bulldogs and on Wednesday, Jan. 13, they will play Cairo’s Washington Middle School eighth grade Lady Tigers.
