Gymnast-a-cats dominate state championships with 11 first place winners

The Bainbridge Gymnast-a-Cats won first place overall in the Georgia State Championships held April 17-18. They won with a score on 113.225. The team is made up of 11 girls ranging in age from 8-13.
The team won 11 individual first place awards at the competition. Maloree Inlow won first place on vault, bars and an all-around state championship in her age division and second place on balance beam. Avrie Barbree won first place on vault, bars, floor exercise and a state championship in the all-around competition in her age division. She also claimed second on balance beam.
Emma Foster and Bailey Nunnery each won first place in their age division on balance beam.
Foster also placed second in floor and Nunnery placed second on bars and second all-around in her age division.
Ashna Vickers led all competitors at the meet with a score of 9.300 on floor exercise and won her age division. She also finished second all-around in her age division.
Ashtyn Landrum won first place in floor exercise in her age division and third all-around.
Anna Marie Wingertshan placed second on vault and balance beam in her age division. She also finished third in the all-around competition for her age division.
In their individual age divisions Lauren Godwin, Maggie Palmer and Inlow placed third in floors exercise. Bansi Patel placed third in balance beam and Vickers placed third in vault and bars in their age groups. Beth Nunnery also had a competitive meet with a tenth all-around finish.
All 11 members of the team finished with an all-around score greater than 35.00, which qualifies them for the national championship meet at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in June.
