Vanstone fills in Bainbridge Lions Club on activities of Decatur County Library

Southwest Georgia Regional Library assistant director Catherine Vanstone updated the Bainbridge Lions Club Wednesday on the many programs they offer for youth and adults.
“Our children and youth summer reading programs are going extremely well,” Vanstone said in her opening remarks. “In Decatur County, we have 521 children and 48 teens in the program, in Miller County we have 89 children and nine teens in the program and in Seminole County we have 178 children and 27 teens in the program.”
Vanstone also reviewed many library programs that benefit adults.
“In September we will have a class on networking and in October we will have a class on interviewing,” she said.
Vanstone also updated the Lions on a Minecraft club that is held the first Thursday of each month at 4 p.m. A drawing class the second Thursday of each month is at 4 p.m., a chess club every Wednesday at 4 p.m., toddler time Tuesdays and Thursdays at10 a.m., and Medicare assistance the first Thursday of the month at 10 a.m.
Following her presentation Lions Club first vice president Stephen Whittaker presented Vanstone with a check for $1,200 for the Decatur County Library Foundation to benefit the blind and visually impaired section.
