The Decatur County Board of Education  approved the resignation of West Bainbridge Elementary School Principal Jamie Ard at its meeting Thursday.

Ard’s position will be filled on an interim basis by WBE Assistant Principal Ortega Ross.

“Mr. Ard has resigned his position to take care of some personal issues,” said Decatur County Superintendent Tim Cochran.

“He has been a great asset to Decatur County and we wish him nothing but the best. West Bainbridge will be in the very capable hands of Mrs. Ortega Ross who has been the assistant principal at WBE but will now be the interim-principal moving forward.”
